Denise caught up over a wonderful lunch at Perbacco. It's located in the Financial District on California Street.
We started with this wonderful bread, as well as breadsticks that I didn't manage to get on camera.
Next came the main courses. Denise ordered the gnocci, which she reported as superb. I ordered the risotto, which was outstanding. The base included a bit of balsamic vinegar, giving it a bite that one doesn't always find in risotto.
We ended the meal with espresso and a pair of desserts. The fondant included hazelnut---delicious. The angel food cake had some sort of flowery flavor that was sublime.
