My meal at Sweet Potato Café was one of the best Southern meals I've had. The restaurant is located a block off main street in Stone Mountain. The house is wonderfully decorated inside. I spoke briefly with the chef who explained that she grows some of her own vegetables.
These corn fritters had a perfect crust and were filled with just the right amount of corn embedded in batter. The superb dipping sauce had just enough of an acidic bite to balance the fritters.
I didn't try this vegetable soup but it looks hearty.
I ordered this sweet potato, beans, and corn hash. It was satisfying without being heavy. The cornbread muffin was delicious.
I didn't have a chance to try this chicken pot pie but it smelled wonderful.
This chocolate cake was outstanding. The cake was very moist and pillowy. The buttercream frosting was rich and luscious without being overpowering.
