I greatly enjoyed my early Christmas dinner at Petite Violette. The weather was cold but the parking lot was bustling. Service as usual was excellent, starting at the stalwart parking staff all the way through to the tables and kitchen.
My onion soup was full of umami, both in the broth and in the cheese.
I think of trout amandine as a very French dish. The fish was tender and flaky. The butter sauce full of flavor.
I couldn't pass up a piece of Basque cheesecake for breakfast. Thanks, folks!
