Friday night is still steak night. Grilling outside is always best but sometimes the cold makes me think twice. This steak from Loeffel Meat Shoppe was cooked under the broiler and it was delicious. My corn and potato were just right on the side. I am grateful for excellent meals such as this.

I made huevos rancheros for breakfast. I fried my own tostadas which makes a special treat. My green sauce topped my dish nicely. I am grateful for such simple, wholesome meals.

The drive to York on a sunny Sunday is a pleasure. The lunch/brunch buffet at Chances R is a welcome treat, with good food and friendly staff. This is a small selection of the buffet items. I didn't catch the salad bar, fish selection, carving table, or dessert. My selection of meat and vegetables really hit the spot. I tried a new breakfast combination. I made one small multigrain pancake, served with banana, strawberries, and ricotta. I put it next to a three-egg omelet. The small pancake was the perfect match for the omelet. I am grateful for such tasty and hearty meals.

I made this eggplant lasagne, enough for several meals. Tastes great, keeps me healthy. I am grateful.

You see here two briskets being smoked. One of them is a pastrami after having been brined. I made pastrami sandwiches with rye bread and Swiss. I also made latkes using some chicken fat I had saved from an earlier batch of stock. Pickles rounded out the plate. Everything was delicious. I am grateful for such wonderful meals.

I stopped by Great Harvest and found exactly what I hoped for, a loaf of rye bread. It tasted great and had great texture. Thanks, folks!
