Breakfast at St. Kilda Cafe and Bakery in Clive

St. Kilda was lively on the morning I visited. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, I was too hungry to take a photo of my breakfast but it was tasty and satisfying. Thanks, folks!

Dinner at Centro in Des Moines

Centro is a favorite dinner for me in Des Moines. The restaurant was bustling and the staff were very welcoming. I started with this delicious salad, light and full of flavor. My go-to dinner is salmon. This time, I opted for pasta, a wonderful choice. Peppers gave the sauce the right amount of bite. The pasta was perfect. Thanks, folks!

On The Road: 402 BBQ in Omaha

A road trip requires fuel. 402 BBQ on the south side of Omaha was the right restaurant at the right time. I drove through where the proprietor was very friendly and welcoming. I sat in my car to enjoy my brisket. It was tender and moist. The sauce was great with a nice zip. Thank you!

Lunch at Panda Garden

Witty introduced me to Panda Garden located near Target on the north side of Lincoln. In addition to a typical Asian restaurant menu, the proprietor offers Korean specialties. Witty recommended the bibimbap lunch which was great, full of flavor and satisfaction. Thanks, folks!

Short Ribs for Dinner

Short ribs take time but are worth the effort. I browned my Loeffel Meat Shoppe short ribs, then added mirepoix, stock, and red wine. Three hours later, I had a wonderful meal for which I am grateful.

Boxcar BBQ in Havelock

Boxcar BBQ is a relative newcomer to the Lincoln scene, having opened last fall. I have driven past it quite a few times and finally had a chance to enjoy lunch. The proprietor was very friendly and welcoming. I ordered my brisket sandwich without a bun to save a few calories. My brisket was tender and juicy. The sauce was great---very flavorful. Pancake Variations

I made sourdough multigrain pancakes and topped them with a combination of ricotta and some wonderful jelly. This breakfast kept me going all morning. I am grateful.

Steak on the Grill

The weather has been perfect for grilling. Add a few vegetables and I have a perfect meal. I am grateful.

Lunch at Rodney Scott's BBQ in Atlanta

Rodney Scott, the James Beard Award-winning chef known for his whole hog BBQ, has opened a restaurant in Atlanta. Of course, I had to visit. My meal started with hush puppies. The pork rinds are superb. My pork and brisket were both sublime. The cornbread was a surprise star of the meal. I topped off my meal with the best fried pie I've ever had. Kudos to Chef Scott and his team!

Dinner at Cafe Vino was excellent with superb food and wonderful service. Dinner started with this selection of cheeses. My shrimp gnocci was excellent. A good plate of gnocci doesn't come along every day. Thanks, folks!

Breakfast at Lucile's in Fort Collins CO

Lucile's is, of course, a New Orleans restaurant at the base of the Rocky Mountains. As unexpected as this cuisine may be in Fort Collins, it makes for a great place to enjoy the morning with food and conversation. The restaurant was packed and the staff was very friendly. Conversation was fueled with beignets. This huge biscuit with gravy was just a side for my meal. I couldn't come close to finishing all of this food. But that was part of the fun. Lunch at Moe's Original in Peachtree Corners

Driving around Peachtree Corners, enjoying the day. Moe's turned out to be the perfect spot for lunch. I sat outside and enjoyed my ribs. The proprietor was very friendly and helpful. Thanks, folks!

Eating Around Georgia Tech: Lunch at Collective

The Collective is a new food court on the east side of the highway. My friends and I met there to enjoy conversation and lunch. My meal from Aviva was tasty and hearty. Thanks, folks!

Dinner at Amicalola Falls Lodge

Isn't this view beautiful? It's no wonder why Amicalola Falls State Park is so popular. The staff at the lodge's dining room make this spectacular view even more enjoyable thanks to their gracious and welcoming service. The buffet is full of wonderful food. This was my first visit and it won't be my last. Brunswick stew. Pork chop. Cobbler. Thanks, folks!

Mack Aaron's Apple House in North Georgia

A trip through the North Georgia mountains led me to this wonderful spot. Apple House is on the way to Amicalola Falls State Park. The proprietors are a wonderfully welcoming family. I walked away with a lot of stuff: apples, caramel corn, and of course fried pies. I have found a new stop on my mountain sojurns. Thank you, folks!
