A drive around downtown Milwaukee led me to the Historic Third Ward District, a nicely renovated section of old Milwaukee. I spied the large sign of the Public Market and decided to stop by. Most of the vendors sell prepared food as is the modern way. They offered a wide range of itemsincluding this seafood vendor. Kehr's has a very large selection of chocolates. I scored here---a pound of excellent seconds chocolates for $11.

The Super H Market in Chamblee is next to BrandSmart, at the intersection of the Perimeter and Chamblee Industrial. I believe it's a Korean chain; it has the overall bright, colorful appearance of a nice supermarket. I've been there several times but yesterday was my first full shopping trip. Their selection of vegetables is very strong, although probably not as big as the Buford Farmers' Market. I didn't spend as much time looking at the meat department but it did seem very thorough, with an emphasis on pre-packaged meats. They have supplies for a variety of ethnic groups; it's going to take me a little while to figure out their organization but they have a very strong selection for spices, sauces, etc.

I don't think I've reported on this market before...Buford Highway Farmers Market is on Buford Highway just north of I-285. International Market would be a more appropriate name. It is, in my opinion, the best of the international markets. It is in a huge space and can accommodate a lot of different items. The aisles are helpfully labeled by ethnicity, as is fairly common practice around here (and yes, there is an American aisle). The produce section is outstanding; of course, I don't know how to use many of the items, but I've never had any problem finding anything I want. I didn't realize until this trip how extensive their fish section is---many Asian markets don't carry salmon for some reason but BHFM does. They even have some sushi-grade fish. They also have an extensive appliance section.
