I stopped by Dusty's for my usual Saturday lunch to find that today is their last day. They will still have a catering operation and some take-out but no sit-down service. It seems they lost their lease. Why a landlord would run off a successful tenant in this economy is beyond me.
All this makes me wonder about the future landscape of food in Atlanta. Restaurants are closing left and right, many of them fixtures in their neighborhoods. What will be left when the economy recovers? How long will it take for the new neighborhood institutions to emerge?
