Dinner at Florio's

I haven't been to Florio's in south Lincoln for awhile. I was happy to see that they were busy with people enjoying their evenings. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. My meal started out with this light, flavorful salad and some great bread. My eggplant parm was just right: wonderfully smooth texture on the inside, great sauce on the outside, just the right amount of rich cheese. Thanks, folks!

At The Airport: Just The Right Thing For Lunch at DTW

I had very little time at Detroit. Luckily, I found this peanut butter and strawberry jam sandwich on my way to my gate. It tasted great and was just the right size. Thanks, folks!

The Combination Plate at Casa Rio in San Antonio

Casa Rio is the original restaurant on the San Antonio Riverwalk and the combination plate is their original dish. Everything was great. The chili was superb, with some spices that I couldn't quite identify that gave a wonderful flavor. The staff was welcoming and gracious. Thanks, folks!

A trip to a different part of town paid off. Emidio's is a Portugese restaurant with excellent food and very welcoming proprietors. My paella was outstanding, a great reminder of my days in New Jersey. Thanks, folks!

Eating Around Georgia Tech: Hankook Taqueria

I haven't been to Hankook Taqueria in awhile and my visit was a real pleasure. I ordered the value plate: one beef taco, one chicken taco, sesame fries. The tacos were very flavorful and the sesame fries were addictive. The staff was great. Thanks, folks!

Good Grocery Store Tamales

I varied my routine and visited Mi Mexico for dinner. My vegearian enchilada was great. I believe that the enchilada sauce is sweet potato---very tasty. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Thanks, folks!

A Sacher Torte Inspired Breakfast

I used leftovers from my Sacher torte---apricot jam and chocolate---to make a tasty variation on my fussy French toast. I am grateful for simple pleasures.

The weather outside was mediocre so I cooked this steak under the broiler. Still delicious. I am grateful.

Japanese Breaded Eggplant

I was at the Asian grocery store and spied the narrow Japanese eggplant. What a great idea for dinner. I prepared it much like I do my standard eggplant, making long thin strips. The result was great and I am grateful for simple pleasures.
