The Takeout Lifestyle: Dinner from Asian Cafe in Dunwoody

My tofu was tasty and satisfying. Asian Cafe has a great system: call and order, pick up from their window. Thanks, folks!

Dinner at Viceroy at Perimeter

Excellent food, gracious service. Thanks, folks!

Homemade Pasta

I bought a new pasta roller and gave it a spin. While I can make adequate pasta with my rolling pin, the rolling machine allows me to roll the dough thinner. The result was delicious with a beautiful note of wheat. I used my homemade tomato sauce and some meatballs made from Nebraska beef and pork. I am grateful for the chance to make my own food.

Gingerbread

I made this gingerbread from King Arthur Baking's recipe using mostly freshly-ground spices. The ginger was powdered but the cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg were all ground by me. It was great: moist, flavorful, rich. I am grateful for the chance to both make and enjoy this treat.

(There's nothing like homemade yogurt. ) My zatar bread was delicious. What a treat! Thanks, folks!

Breakfast at Zingerman's Next Door in Ann Arbor MI

Breakfast at La Madeline at Perimeter

I've long enjoyed La Madeline for lunch or dinner but this was my first breakfast. What a treat! This is the French country breakfast, which adds a potato galette to the American country breakfast. Butter Pecan Cake

I have a supply of pecans from We're Nuts, which gives me an opportunity to try pecans in new applications. I made this butter pecan cake from Southern Living. I added one twist---chocolate ganache under the icing. The result was rich and delicious. Using some uncooked pecans highlights their natural flavor. I had plenty to share, too. I am grateful for the chance to make, eat, and share such a wonderful treat.
