Huevos Rancheros for Breakfast

A delicious, savory breakfast. I fried wheat tortillas this time rather than my usual corn. These tortillas puffed up pleasantly, making for great texture. I am grateful for the opportunity to make and eat such a breakfast.

Special French Toast

Dinner at the Toll Road Restaurant at Stovepipe Wells in Death Valley

After an afternoon drive through Death Valley, I enjoyed a satisfying dinner at Stovepipe Wells. The Toll Road buffet was tasty and the staff extremely gracious. New Year's Eve Dinner at Giada in Las Vegas

I've been considering a meal at Giada since my last trip to Vegas a half dozen years ago. New Year's Eve was a great time for me to visit. I enjoyed the special New Year's Eve menu and was very impressed by the gracious staff. My antipasti included oyster, tortellini, and tomato crostini. My second course was a chantarelle raviolo. For my main course, I enjoyed the poached lobster tail. And for dessert, I chose this creamy tiramisu. Thanks, folks!

On The Road: Chicken-N-The-Bag in Grand Junction CO

I enjoy food truck lunches in part because they often provide great food and in part because they provide a culinary adventure. Chicken-N-The-Bag occupies a low-key spot in the parking lot of a hardware store, a perfect place to build customer volume. They gave me a beeper so I could wait in my car for my fried chicken to be ready. The beep was well worth the wait. Everything was great but the chicken was clearly the star: perfectly cooked and juicy, wonderful crust. The proprietors were great. Thanks, folks!
