I've been to Fox Brothers twice now in widely spaced visits. It seems to be always busy with a lively crowd. The service is efficient but you don't feel rushed. My latest visit was just before a tree crashed into their dining room; it sounds like they will be back in operation soon.
I needed to gnaw on some bones so I ordered the baby back ribs. The meat is very tender but still has a little tooth to it, the texture that most BBQ hounds prefer. The slaw didn't excite me. That's partly because this was the sweet variety and I have decided that I prefer tangy slaw, but the slaw also had precious little but cabbage in it. The greens, however, were superb, with a kiss of the pig and very tender. Overall, I would rank their BBQ as very good, but I don't think that I would put the food in the top ranks of BBQ around the country. But the combination of good food and great atmosphere is definitely appealing.
