The Drake Diner approaches its 30th year and it's as popular as ever. Mom and I enjoyed our New Year's morning breakfast. Mom commented on how bright and airy the space is, which was perfect for the first breakfast of the year.
We started off with the cinnamon bun. As Mom pointed out, it's filled with a good dose of cinnamon and plenty of powdered sugar sauce. Nonetheless, the taste is fairly light and a lot of fun.
I ordered the veggie omelet, hash browns, and sourdough toast. The omelet was fluffy and very enjoyable with plenty of good veggie fillings. The sourdough toast may have been my favorite part of the plate.
I didn't get a photo of Mom's Belgian waffle but she reported that it was great.
