The Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville hosts an annual Cowboy Gathering. As part of this gathering, they host a number of chuckwagons serving old fashioned trail food. It's a great experience and great food.
Here are the cooks of Cowboy Cookin' getting ready to serve. Note the giant disc of cornbread.
Here are the dutch ovens with coals on top, filled with biscuits on the inside.
And here is my meal: beef stew, beans, biscuit, and peach cobbler. Everything was great. I don't think that the cowhands of the Old West ate out of Styrofoam, though.
