I decided to make a variation on a Sacher torte. I started with the traditional cakes, raised with meringue.
Rather than the almond syrup, I soaked the cake with cherry syrup. I added sliced almonds in both the middle and on top.
Of course, I served it with some whipped cream. The result was delicious and a little different.
